New little termite robot builds a set of stairs

Today most robots are vacuuming homes or on the battle field. Instead this little robot is building stairs. Meet Kali, the little hard working stair building robot. This bot is part of Harvard's Termes Project, and they are working on creating a swarm building system with a lot of little robots that build something together.
The word "Termes" comes from termites and like termites these bots work together to building something. Termites work together in swarms to build mounds and these robots team up to build other things. These terms robots are autonomous, small, and simple, and they each have the capability of lifting and moving blocks to create things. Check out the video above to see them in there building action!

Libyan rebels construct combat robots from junk

We all know about UAV's and the packbot, but in Libya its a little different. Rebels in Libya have been improvising their own combat robots using Power Wheels toys, radios, cameras, and big machine guns. They have been doing this because robots are obviously not humans and they don't get hurt and die, they just brake. So with all the conflict going on in Libya its not a bad idea to make some of these combat robots.
This just shows that with enough knowledge anyone can build a robot. With this being said we can just prepare for something even greater than military scrap bots. Check out the video above to see the robots, and thanks for reading!

Step for CNC Programming ang Machining

The following is the procedures to be followed in cnc programming and machining. the most important poin is to verify the programme by test run it on the machine before the actual machining in order to ensure that the programme is free of mistake.
  1. Study the part drawing carefully.
  2. Unless the drawing dimension are cnc adapted,select a suitable programme zero point on the work piece. The tool will be adjusted to this zero point during the machine set up.
  3. Determine the machining operetions and their sequence.
  4. Determine the methode af work clamping ( jig and fixtures ).
  5. Select cutting tools and determine spindle speed and feeds.
  6. Write programme ( translate machining step into programme blocks ).If many solutions are possible, try the simplest solution first. It usually longer, but better to procced in this way.
  7. Prepare tool chart or diagram, measure tool geometry (lengths,diameter) and note.
  8. Clamp work piece and set up machine.
  9. Enter compensation value if necessary.
  10. Check and test programme. It is good practice to dry run programme.                                               
  • without the workpiece 
  • without the cutting tool 
  • by raising the tool to safe heigth, If necessary, correct and edit programme and check again.
And than  Start machining.
